A Victorian Scottish basket hilted sword manufactured by Wilkinson, etched "Royal Scots Fusiliers" and "O.H.D.O". Serial number 34845 matches Major-General Osborne Herbert Delano-Osborne, who fought in World War I and was mentioned in despatches on 8 October 1914 for the Battle of the Aisne (source). The sword was purchased by Officer Osborne in 1897, during the last years of the reign of Queen Victoria.
