Rare Edward VIII Officer's Sword

Rare 1897 Pattern officer's sword, bearing king Edward VIII's cypher on the blade and hilt.

Edward VIII, later Duke of Windsor, reigned for just 326 days before abdicating in December 1936. A controversial figure, he has often been regarded as a Nazi sympathiser. Because of his exceptionally brief reign, swords bearing his royal cypher are particularly scarce.
