A very decent Gunto looking for a new home, Japanese Navy, WW2.
The shingunto koshirae is covered in rayskin, and good condition ito, with some discoloration. The sword has a very nice pair of high quality Edo period shakudo menuki.
The scabbard is wood inside a woven canvas cover. The cover has a number of characters at the top.
The ashi, koiguchi and kabuto-gane are all decorated with chrysanthemums.
The tang is short and has an anchor stamp inside a circle.
