Blue and Gilt Ottoman Shamshir, Horn Hilt

A shamshir sword, with a carved horn hilt and blue and gilt blade.

Ottoman shamshirs with import blades are common, but blue and gilt ones are unusual.

The blade is of very high quality, and remains solid from base to tip. It has a good, thick spine. 90% of the bluing remains visible. The sword enters the scabbard with a satisfying 'click'.

The hilt is made from a translucent carved horn, with a green/yellow colour.
