1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Blue & Gilt Sabre by Osborn

1796 Pattern Light Cavalry Officer's Blue & Gilt Sabre by Osborn

Origin: United Kingdom | Culture: British | Period: 19th Century (George III)

Sold

A wonderful example of an early Osborn sabre. Large fighting blade, blue and gilt, with the typical George III monogram, early coat of arms, and horseman.

Also engraved near the ricasso is 'OSBORN'S' and the officer's initials 'A P' on one side, and 'Warranted' on the reverse.

All the features we love about an Osborn are there, including the faceted knucklebow, backpiece and ferrule. One langet present.
