This is a typical and unmodified example of the infamous 1796 Heavy Cavalry Sabre. Both langets are in place, the disc hilt has not been ground down and it retains the full blade length with butcher tip. The blade is in great condition with some minor black oxide spotting.

It is marked to cutler ‘T Craven’ on the spine, although it is quite faded.

The scabbard is unit marked to the Warwickshire Regiment of Yeomanry Cavalry ‘WYC’. Rack and troop number is present but barely visible.
